Reservoir. The reservoir shall be fabricated of stainless steel aluminum of sufficient thickness to prevent dents or damage which would impair function in normal operation. The reservoirs shall have a minimum fat capacity of 50 pounds for the type II, size 1 and 80 pounds for the type III, size 1.
Electrical requirements. Filters shall be supplied with motors of not less than 1/4 Hp and be equipped with an overload protection device. The motors for the type III filters shall be of the reversing type. Motors for style A units shall be rated for 120 V, 60 Hz, single phase, motors for style B units shall be rated for 220 V, 50 Hz, single phase. Filters shall be supplied with a 6 foot (minimum) power supply cord and have provisions for storing cord when not in use. Filters designed for 120 V, 60 Hz, 1 Ph power shall have a NEMA 5-15P plug assembled to the end of the cord. Controls for motor(s) and pump(s) operation shall be rigidly mounted in a location easily accessible to the operation. Filters having the reversing capability shall be supplied with a switch clearly indicating whether the filter is in the pumped auction or the pumped refill mode.
Instruction plate. The filters shall have an instruction plate permanently attached to it in a readily visible area. The plate shall contain the manufacturers’ standard operating instructions etched, embossed, or die-stamped.
Standard compliance. The cooking grease filters shall comply with the National Sanitation Foundation Standard No. 4 and Underwriters Laboratories Standard No. 197.
Identification plate. In addition to the marking and identification requirements of UL Standard No. 197, the identification plate shall include the contract number and national stock number.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product sold in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging.
A. Packaging. The cooking grease filters shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with commercial practice.
B. Packing. Packing shall be in accordance with commercial packing complying with Uniform Freight Classification or National Motor Freight Classification, as applicable.
