Tolerances shall be as follows: Dimensions < 4-1/2 inches: + 1/4 inch (6.4 mm); Dimensions > 4-1/2 and < 9-1/2 inches: + 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) : Dimensions > 9-1/2 inches: + 1-1/4 inches (3.2 cm).
3.4 Marking. The pan sets shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name, trade name, or trademark of such known character that the source of the pan set may be readily determined.
3.5 Workmanship. The pan sets shall be clean and free of embedded foreign material, slivers, scratches, rough die or gouge marks, pits, rust or scale. The pan sets shall not be fractured, buckled, bent, punctured, malformed, or damaged. Welds shall be sound, smooth, clean and free of porosity and surface burns. Rivets shall be tight and rivet heads shall be concentric and in full contact with the riveted metal surfaces. There shall be no defect which may affect serviceability, durability, or appearance.
3.6 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENT
4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
6. PACKAGING
6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order.
