3.1.1 Size 1. The size 1 egg whip shall be 11-1/2 to 12-1/2 inches in overall length and have a minimum bow diameter of 2-1/2 inches. The size 1 egg whip shall have a minimum of eight bow wires. The bow wires shall have a minimum diameter of 0.078 inch.
3.1.2 Size 2. The size 2 egg whip shall be 15-1/2 to 17 inches in overall length and have a minimum bow diameter of 2-3/4 inches. The size 2 egg whip shall have a minimum of seven bow wires. The bow wires shall have a minimum diameter of 0.090 inch.
3.2 NSF International compliance. The contractor shall submit to the contracting officer or authorized representative, prior to awarding of contract, satisfactory evidence that the items offered meet the requirements of NSF International Criteria C-2 or Standard no.2. Satisfactory evidence of this compliance may be any of the following:
(1) A Listing in the current edition of the “NSF International Listing Food Service Equipment and Related Products, Components and Materials”, and display of the NSF International mark on the finished item; or
(2) A Certification issued by NSF International under their special contract evaluation/certification program for government contracts; or
(3) A Certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory acceptable to the medical authority of the service for which the item(s) are being procured starting at the item has been tested and conforms to NSF Criteria No. C-2.
3.3 Marking. The egg whip shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name, trade name or trademark by means of a hang tag or adhesive decal.
3.4 Workmanship. The egg whips shall be clean and free from any burrs, slivers, scratches, rough die marks, ir excess solder. The egg whips shall not be fractured, buckled, bent, punctured, malformed, or damaged.
3.5 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
3.6 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch/pound units, provided they fall within tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this commercial item description are met.
