3.2.2 Type II pans. Type II pans and covers shall be made from type 3000 series aluminum alloy. The pan and cover handles shall be made from corrosion resistant steel, tin plated steel, nickel plated steel, nicke chrome-plated steel, or malleable cast iron.
3.3 Construction.
3.3.1 Type I. The body of the pans shall be formed seamless from stainless steel and conform to the dimensions in table I. the handles shall be slighly concave and have a hole (1/4 inch minimum diameter) at the end for hanging the saucepan. The size 3 (7 1/2 quart) saucepan shall have a loop handle located directly opposite the primary handle. The loop handle shall have a minimum opening of 1/2 inch in height amd 2 1/2 inches in width. The handles shall be attached by rivets, spot welding or continuous welding. If specified, the pans shall be provided with a cover. The cover shall be made from stainless steel and shall have minimum thickness of 0.025 inch. The cover shall be provided with a stainless steel strap handle with a minimum width of 1/2 inch and shall be spot welded to the cover. The cover handle shall have a minimum opening of 1/2 inch in height and 2 1/2 inches in width.
3.3.2 Type II. The body of the pans shall be formed seamless from aluminum and conform to the dimensions in table II. The handles shall have a hole (1/4 inch minimum diameter) at the end for hanging the saucepan. The handle shall be attached by rivets, spot welding or continuous welding. The handle size shall conform to the manufacturer’s standard commercial product. If specified, the pans shall be provided with a cover. The cover shall be made from aluminum and shall be of the thickness in table II. The cover shall be provided with a strap handle with a minimum width of 1/2 inch. The cover handle shall have a minimum opening of 1/2 inch in height and 2 1/2 inches in width.
3.4 Marking. The pans shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name, trade name, or trademark of such known character that the source of the item may be readily determined.
3.5 Workmanship. The pans shall be clean and free from any cracks, fractures, malforming, scale, pits, and flux deposits. Pans shall have no sharp edges, slivers, burrs, deep scratches, tool marks, or other defects which may affect serviceability, durability, or appearance.
3.6 Standard compliance. The pans shall comply with the requirements of NSF International Criteria C-2 or Standard no.2
