3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Design and construction.
3.1.1 Item 1- Masher, Potato, Hand. The overall length of the masher shall be 17 to 20 inches (431.8 to 508.0 mm). The wire base of the masher shall measure 3 X 4 inches minimum (76.2 to 101.6 mm). The wire shall be either corrosion-resisting steel or plated (nickel or chromium) carbon steel with a diameter of not less than 3/16 inch (4.8 mm). The wire shall be bent in a serpentine shape and the ends of the wire bent at right angles to the base, brought together and inserted into the handle.
