3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS

3.1 Design and construction. The measuring spoon set shall consist of four spoons; one each of the following capacities: 1-tablespoon, 1-teaspoon, 1/2-teaspoon and 1/4-teaspoon. The spoons shall be formed from 300-series stainless steel with a minimum thickness of 0.028 inch (0.7 mm). The tablespoon shall measure 5 inches (12.7 cm) + 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) in length and each smaller size measuring spoon shall be proportionately shorter in length to allow nesting of the bowls. The spoon handle shall measure 3/8 inch (0.95 cm) minimum in width. A key ring or wire loop shall pass through a hole in each spoon’s handle to hold the set together.
