3.1.2.1 Style A, Lock seamed, heavy duty. The style A pan shall consist of a rack in which 12 cups are individually secured.
3.1.2.2 Style B, One piece. The style B pan shall be constructed with 12 cups and shall be formed seamless from a single piece of material. The minimum sidewall thickness for the cups shall be 0.012 inch (0.3 mm). Top rim edges, if constructed without a reinforcing member, shall be closed to a maximum opening of 1/32 inch (0.8 mm).
3.1.3 Type III, Pudding pan. The pudding pan shall be formed seamless from a single piece of 3000 series aluminum or 300 series stainless steel with a minimum thickness of 0.020 inch (0.5 mm). The pan shall have a maximum top outside diameter of 11-1/4 inches (28.6 cm) and a capacity of 3 quarts (2.8 1); plus 20 percent, minus 10 percent.
3.2 BISSC Standard compliance. The pans shall comply with all provisions of BISSC Standard No. 35, Baking Pans. If a conflict arises between BISSC 35 and the cid, the requirements of the cid shall take precedence.
3.3 Workmanship. Pans shall have no sharp edges, slivers, burrs, scratches, tool marks, or other defects which might affect serviceability, durability, or appearance.
3.4 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
6. PACKAGING
6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order.
7. NOTES
7.1 CID based part identification numbering. Part identification numbers are not required to be placed on the product or container.
