4. PACKAGING
4.1 Packaging and packing. Packaging and packing shall be commercial or export as specified (see 5.2).
4.2 Commercial packaging and packing.
4.2.1 Commercial packaging. Each bowl, size 1 or size, shall be wrapped in kraft paper or placed in a polyethylene bag in accordance with good commercial practice.
4.2.2 Commercial packing. Bowls, wrapped or bagged shall be individually cushioned and immobilized, one each in a fingerboard box complying with Uniform Freight Classification or National Motor Freight Classification.
4.3 Export packaging and packing.
4.3.1 Export packaging. Each bowl shall be cleaned, preserved, wrapped, and cushioned to protect against corrosion, deterioration, and physical damage during shipping and storage.
4.3.2 Export packing. Bowls, packaged for export shall be individually packed in snug-fitting fiberboard boxes, conforming to style RSC, grade V3c, V3s or V4s of PPP-B-636. Bowls shall be packed inverted. Each box shall be closed and reinforced in accordance with PPP-B-636. Reinforcement shall be limited to non-metallic strapping or pressure-sensitive adhesive filament reinforced tape.
4.4 Palletization. When specified, shipping containers shall be palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147 (see 5.2).
4.5 Marking (commercial and export). In addition to any special markings required by the contract or purchase order, shipping containers, and unit loads shall be marked in accordance to MIL-STD-129.
5. NOTES
5.1 Intended use. The mixing bowls are intended primarily for hand mixing and preparing foods such as salads in permanent and temporary installations.
5.2 Ordering data.
a. Title, number and date of this document.
b. Size of bowl required (see 1.1).
c. Selection of applicable packaging and packing required.
d. When palletization of shipping containers is required
