1.3 Codes and standards. Scrapers shall conform to National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Basic Criteria C-2. Special Equipment and Devices.
1.4 Workmanship. The scrapers shall be clean and free of burrs, slivers, rough surfaces, sharp edges, and any other defects which may affect appearance or serviceability.
2. QUALITY ASSURANCE
2.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substantiating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
2.2 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580 to the maximum extent practicable.
3.1 Packaging and packing. Packaging and packing shall be commercial export as specified (see 4.2)
3.2 Commercial packaging and packing. Each scraper shall be cleaned, preserved, packaged and packed in accordance with ASTM D 3951.
3.3 Export packaging and packing.
3.3.1 Export packaging. Each scraper shall be cleaned, preserved, and cushioned to protect against corrosion, deterioration and physical damage during shipment and storage. Each scraper shall be packaged in a plastic bag. Twelve scrapers shall be packaged in an intermediate paperboard box.
3.3.2 Export packing. One hundred forty-four scrapers shall be packed in a snug-fitting fiberboard box constructed, closed, and reinforced in accordance with grade V3c, V3s, or V4s, style RSC of PPP-B-636. Reinforcement shall be limited to nonmetallic strapping or pressure-sensitive adhesive filament reinforced tape.
3.3.3 Palletization. When specified (see 4.2) shipping containers shall be palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147.
3.4 Marking (commercial and export). Marking of unit packs, shipping containers, and unit loads shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129 or ASTM D 3951, as applicable.
