3.2 NSF International compliance. Prior to approval of first shipment, the contractor shall submit to the contracting officer or his authorized representative satisfactory evidence that the items offered meet the applicable requirements of NSF International Standard No.2 or Criteria C-2. NSF International compliance will not be required for the roller. Satisfactory evidence of this compliance may be any of the following:
(1) A listing in the current edition of the NSF International “Listing of Food Service Equipment” and display of the NSF International mark on the finished item, or
(2) A certification issued by NSF International under this special one-time contract evaluation/certification service, or
(3) A certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory, acceptable to the contracting officer and the medical authority of the service for which the items are being procured, indicating that the item has been tested and conforms to NSF International Standard No.2 or Criteria C-2. Acceptability of the testing laboratory by the medical authority shall be determined prior to initiation of procurement actions.
3.3 Marking. The strainer shall be marked with the manufacturer’s name, trade name, or trademark of such known character that the source of manufacture may be readily determined.
3.4 Workmanship. The finished strainers, with rollers, shall be free from sharp edges, slivers, burrs, scratches, pits, tool marks, and other defects which may affect appearance or serviceability.
3.5 Regulatory requirements. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials in accordance with Public Law 94-580, as amended, to the maximum extent practicable.
3.6 Measurement system. The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values stated in parentheses are for informational purposes only.
3.7 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-STD-376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the specification preparing activity for changes to this document.
3.8 Commercial item. The use of the term “commercial item description” in this document does not imply that any item or items offered are not required to conform with all requirements specified herein.
