When spot welding or projection welding is used the crevice between the handle and body shall be sealed by welding, brazing, or silver solder. The welding shall be smooth, sound, and free from pit and flashes. All flux shall be removed. The handles shall have a minimum thickness of 0.071 inch (1.8 mm). The size 1 dipper shall have graduation markings at 8 ounce (0.24 L) intervals.

3.2 Finish. The dippers shall be smooth on all surfaces and edges. The measures shall be free from corrosion, discoloration, or stain.
3.3 Workmanship. The dippers shall be clean and free from dirt, grease, rough or sharp edges, slivers, burrs, deep scratches, tool marks, or other defects which may affect appearance or serviceability. The dippers shall not be fractured, dented, punctured or otherwise malformed or damaged.
3.4 Standard compliance. The dipper shall comply with the requirements of NSF International Criteria C-2 or Standard No.2.
3.5 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within tolerances specified and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
3.6 Standard commercial product. The dippers shall, as a minimum, be in accordance with the requirements of this CID and shall be the manufacturer’s standard commercial product. A standard commercial product is a product which has been sold or is currently offered for sale on the commercial market through advertisements, manufacturer’s catalogs, or brochures, and represents the latest production model.
4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS.
4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
