3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 Design and construction.
3.1.1 Material. The baking cup liner shall be made of paper conforming to 21 CFR 121, Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended.
3.1.2 Dimensions. The liner shall be furnished in the form of a cycle having a diameter of 4-1/2 inches (114.3 mm) plus or minus 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) and uniformly fluted to form a cup. The cup shall have bottom diameter of 2 inches (50.8 mm) plus or minus 1/16 inch (1.6 mm). The cup shall have fluted slanting sidewalls measuring 1-1/4 inches (31.8 mm) plus or minus 1/16-inch (1.6 mm) in slant height.
