COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
STAND, MIXING BOWL, MOIBLE
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to MIL-S-1980 for all federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers one size of mobile mixing bowl stand. This item is also known as a bowl truck or a bowl dollie (dolley).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The mixing bowl stand shall accommodate 30, 40, 60, and 80 quart size mixing bowls. The .same stand shall be used for all size bowls, but adapters may be used to accommodate smaller size bowls. When a manufacturer elects to use adapters, the adapters shall be furnished with the stand. The stand shall be constructed in the form of a stable ring structure. The mixing bowl stand shall be constructed to withstand the weight of an 80 quart bowl loaded with 200 ± 5 pounds and then pushed at a 30° angle over a 3/8 inch high, 3 inch wide obstacle ten times without tipping over or damaging the stand.
