COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PANS, FRYING
The General Services Administration has autorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification RR-P-89
This commercial item descriptions covers 6 and 12 inch frying pan for institutional and domestic use.
Salient characteristics.
The frying pans shall have the following dimensions:

Tha pan shall be formed seamless from a single piece of three ply stainless clad steel with a minimum bottom thickness of 0.070 inch after forming.
The handle shall be made from a single piece of stainless steel with a mounting hole provided at the end.
Must have National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) approval or certification by an independent testing laboratoty, acceptable to the GSA indicating that the same model that is being furnnished under this description has been inspected and tested and conforms to NSF Standard No.2.
Workmanship. All rust, dirt, grease, graphite, sharp edges, burrs and slivers shall be removed. The pans shall be clean and free from any cracks, fractures, malforming, scale, pits and flux deposits. There shall be no defect which may impair serviceability, durability, or appearance.
The issue of NSF standard on effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing and marking. The packaging, and packing shall be in accordance with normal commercial practice and shall assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be as specified in the contract or order.
