COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PAN, PIE, DISPOSABLE (ALUMINUM FOIL)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification RR-P-90B
This commercial item description covers disposable pie pans made from aluminum foil of the following sizes:
Size A - 5 inch ( nominal top inside diameter)
Size B - 8-1/4 inch (nominal top inside diameter)
Size C - 8-7/8 inch (nominal top inside diameter)
Salient characteristics:
Aluminum foil shall withstand the baking process with minimum distortion to original shape and dimensions.
Aluminum foil pie, pans shall conform in every respect to the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, Food Additive Amendment and Regulations promulgated the reunder.
Pie pan rims shall be reinforced by either a 180 degree crimped edge or by a round bead.
Pie pans shall conform to the dimensions as shown below:

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawing, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered Materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. The pie pan shall be packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Shipping containers shall be marked as specified in the contract or order.
