COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

SIEVE, FLOUR

(ALUMINUM)

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification RR-K-260, type VII.

This description covers one type of flour sieve.

Salient characteristics:

Shall have a top inside diameter of 16 + 1/8 inches

Inside depth shall be 3-1/2 + 1/8 inches

Shall have 14-mesh screen cloth made of stainless steel wire or aluminum screen cloth

Body shall be one piece, seamless construction

Body shall be formed from minimum 14 gauge (.064 inch nominal) sheet aluminum

Shall have a clamping band to lock screen cloth in place

Workmanship. The finished sieves shall be free from sharp edges, slivers, burrs, scratches, pits, tool marks, and other defects which may affect appearance or serviceability.

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product sold in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provision of the contract.

Regulatory requirements. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.

Packaging, packing, and marking. Packaging, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
