COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
COFFEE-MAKER, VACUUM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification RR-C-1039.
This commercial item description covers complete coffee-maker of one type.
The following components can also be purchased under this description:
Component A- Upper bowl
Component B- Lower bowl
Component C- Filter
Salient characteristics:
The complete coffee-maker shall consist of an upper bowl, a lower bowl, and a filter conforming to the requirements specified below.
Component A-
Upper bowl, stainless steel
Usable brewing capacity: 60 ounces (12 cups)
Minimum metal thickness: 0.025 inch
Provided with a tubular stem for insertion into the lower bowl.
When assembled, stem shall extend from 1/2 to 1 inch above bottom of lower bowl.
Fitted with bushing (gasket) that provides a leak proof seal with lower bowl.
Component B-
Lower bowl, stainless steel
Neck inside diameter: 2.850 to 2.920 inches
Top opening: 3-1/8 o 3-1/4 inches
Bowl height (overall): 5-5/8 to 6 inches
Bowl outside diameter: 6-1/4 to 6-5/16 inches (at widest part)
Bowl base diameter: 4-3/16 to 4-5/16 inches
Usable brewing capacity: 60 ounces (12 cups)
Minimum metal thickness: 0.025 inch
Provided with plastic handle, fitted with a hinged stainless steel cover attached to the neck of the bowl.
Component C-
Filter, stainless steel
When assembled, the filter shall be capable of filtering coffee brewed in the coffee-maker without the presence of coffee grounds in the brew.
Workmanship. The finished item shall be clean, well made, and free from defects which may affect appearance or serviceability.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the products offered meets the salient characteristics of this description, and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provide for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, Packing, and Marking. The packaging and packing shall be in accordance with normal commercial practice and shall assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
