JUGS, VACUUM OR INSULATED, THERMAL EFFICIENT
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to Military Specification MIL-J-23049 and Federal Specification RR-J-800 (see 5.7).
1. ABSTRACT
1.1 Abstract. This commercial item description covers thermal efficient vacuum or insulated jugs of the following sizes (capacities) and finishes:
Size 1 – 1 gallon
Size 2 – 2 gallons
Size 3 – 3 gallons
Size 5 – 5 gallons
Size 10 – 10 gallons
Finish 1 – Satin or Butler (manufacturer’s option)
Finish 2 – Green 383
1.2 CID based part identification number (PIN): A document based PIN to identify types, styles, and sizes of items are included in section 5. This identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor except as information on “Government unique” data nameplates (see 5.4).
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The jugs shall consist of an inner and outer shell joined in such a manner as to produce a space for a vacuum or material
